Full Description
January 2001. NMP.
Four large anti tank cubes are visible as structures at TF 7920 4438 - TF 7921 4438 on 1945 aerial photographs (S1). Another cube stands alone at TF 7916 4434. These features were located to block or restrict inland access routes in case of an invasion from the sea, and formed part of the World War Two defences of this area. These features can still be seen on 1967 aerial photographs (S2) and 1972 aerial photographs (S3) - although on the latter photos, the most easterly of the four anti tank cubes appears to have been shifted slightly.
A. Hunt (NMP), 29 January 2001.
