Full Description
January 2001. NMP.
A section of broad ditch, some 160m long, is visible as an earthwork on 1944 aerial photographs (S1). It runs east to west across a cultivated field. A linear feature is depicted in this location on the 1905 Ordnance Survey map (S2), which may well be the ditch. The feature may thus date from the post medieval period, but was certainly in existence in the modern period and may have been somewhat widened. The exact function of the ditch is unclear.
A. Hunt (NMP), 16 January 2001.
