Map

January 2001. NMP.
Two small chevron-shaped slit trenches are visible on the 1944 aerial photographs (S1) at TF 6959 4403 and TF 6950 4407. Nearby is a linear trench at TF 6958 4411, and a bank, parallel to the straight trench at TF 6965 4406. These all appaear to be components of the World War Two coastal defences of this area. The linear trench and bank appear to be defending a small section of coast where access from the beach is easier, with much lower cliffs.
A. Hunt (NMP), 17 January 2001.
