Map

January 2001. NMP
A pillbox is visible as a structure at TF 6908 4363 on the 1944 aerial photographs (S1). It is situated in the coastal defence scaffolding (NHER 26694), and would have been a part of the World War Two coastal defences in this area. Approximately 25m southeast of the pillbox appears to be some kind of gun emplacement, possibly a spigot mortar, which would presumably have worked in tandem with the pilllbox as a means of defence.
A. Hunt (NMP), 22 January 2001.
