Map

January 2001. NMP.
A bank is visible as an earthwork at TF 6958 4318 to TF 6945 4312 on 1944 aerial photographs (S1) and 1971 aerial photographs (S2). On the 1944 aerial photographs, the course of the bank is continued by a narrow double ditch feature (TF 6943 4311 to TF 6934 4298), which bends to the southeast and runs for about 115m. The section of double ditch running southeast is roughly aligned with a linear feature shown on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map (S3). It also aligns with a field boundary on the enclosure map (S4). It seems most likely that the bank and ditch features are connected with post medieval land division (the bank runs close to a field boundary on the enclosure map also).
A. Hunt (NMP), 23 January 2001.
