Summary

Metal-detecting between 2002 and 2018 recovered Early Neolithic to Late Bronze Age struck flint, including Early Neolithic blades and flakes, a Neolithic blade, Neolithic to Bronze Age flakes, a blade and a scraper and Late Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; an Early/Middle Saxon glass bead; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins, including a hoard of two silver pennies of Henry II; medieval to post-medieval jettons and a post-medieval token; aswell as Bronze Age, Late Iron Age to Roman, Early Saxon, Late Saxon/medieval and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Late Iron Age/Roman unidentified object; Roman brooches, a stud, lock pin, and cast copper alloy object, possibly a vessel mount; Early Saxon brooches and a silver mount; Late Saxon/medieval stirrup terminal and harness pendant fragment; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval finger rings, book mount, weight, rowel spur, ampulla, furniture fitting, and fragment of pedestal-based ewer with a dog's head terminal spout; a medieval to post-medieval furniture fitting, a knife-shoulder bolster and end-cap, and a post-medieval crotal bell, cloth seal, thimble and toy cannon.
