Summary

A series of possible medieval to post medieval date drainage ditches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Thorpe Common situated within the River Burn floodplain. These may be drainage works related to the possible medieval to post medieval moated site to the immediate east (NHER 26984), although this is not certain.

A series of earthwork drainage ditches are visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1) on Thorpe Common situated within the River Burn floodplain. The site is centred on TF 8493 4192 and consists of a system of drainage ditches running alongside and feeding into a central drainage channel. These may be drainage works related to the possible medieval to post medieval moated site to the immediate east (NHER 26984), although this is not certain.
