Full Description
October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Two parallel field boundaries visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1) and CUCAP oblique aerial photographs from 1971 (S2). One runs from TF 8349 4293 to TF 8362 4295 and appears to be a bank, up to 6.5m across and flanked on either side by a ditch. This bank feature may have represented a hedge line. The southern boundary runs from TF 8352 4284 to TF 8365 4286. This appears to be a ditch, up to 4m wide, with either banks or build ups of material to either side. These soilmark spreads are up to 12m wide at one point. They have also appear to have been cut through and displaced by envelope patterning. These boundaries may date to the late medieval through to post medieval period, although they are probably the later date.
S. Massey (NMP), 1 October 2002.
