Full Description
May 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Post medieval ditch or drain visible on 1969 Hunting Survey photographs (S1). Site consists of a line of ditch or drain visible from TF 8464 4535 to TF 8462 4502, 330m long and between 2 to 5m in width. It has slight curves along its length. The linear also appears to be cut across by natural meanders and creeks. The ditch also appears to pre-date the bank to the north (NHER 26670), which is marked on an 1822 plan of the Burnham Salt Marshes (S2) as the 'old bank', indicating it was well established by this date.
S. Massey (NMP), 8 May 2002.
