Map

February 2001. Norfolk NMP.
A fragmented stretch of bank, with an associated ditch, is visible as an earthwork between TF 8321 4439 and TF 8296 4413 on 1946 aerial photography (S1 and S2). The feature is about 350m long and runs northeast to southwest. Its function and age are not clear. It may be a relict field field boundary, but it is not depicted on the historic maps for this area. The bank could be part of the drainage/flood defence system, as ther are many similar earthworks in this area, however, it is not clear how it would fit in with these.
These banks and associetd ditches are cut across by modern field boundaries and drains, so it is likely that they are post medieval in date (S3).
A. Hunt (Suffolk CC NMP), 1 February 2001.
