Full Description
February 2001. Norfolk NMP.
Two sections of ditch are visible as earthworks at TF 83 44 on 1946 aerial photography (S1 & S2).
One is about 100m long and one is about 350m long. The shorter, more northerly, ditch shows up slightly better as an earthwork, while the other one is less clear. Given the location of this land (near the coast and saltmarshes), it seems most likely that these features are modern drainage ditches, especially as they are not depicted on the historic maps for this area. Although these can be seen to be cut by field boundaries so are likely to be at least post medieval in date.
A. Hunt (Suffolk CC NMP), 1 February 2001.
