Map

July 2001. Norfolk NMP.
Earthwork of a rectangular pit, 25m long and up to 5m wide, visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). Surrounding this feature are small linear banks of up-cast. This trench is cut into the side of slight hollow, along the base of which are three interconnected ponds called 'Spring Meadow Pits'. The pit does not appear to be connected to this series of ponds, although it does hold water. It seems likely that this cut features relates to small-scale extraction, possible post medieval in date.
S. Massey (NMP) 6 July 2001.
