NHER 26952 (Monument record) - Possibly post medieval pits and banks

A series of small banks and trenches located in the valley bottom of Ringstead Downs, visible on 1967 OS aerial photographs (S1) and 1988 BKS aerial photographs (S2). At TF 6907 4012, is short stretch of bank, 19m long and 3m wide. This bank material appears to be up-cast from the adjacent pit, 17m by 5m. A small linear of up-cast is also visible to the north of this trench. Further east along the valley bottom is another earthwork bank, at TF 6813 4008. It is 53m long and approximately 3m wide. This also has a right angled, ditched element to it, 11m long by 3m. To the west, at TF 6917 4011, is another rectangular cut feature, 20m by 7m. It is likely that all of these features are either due to extraction of some nature.
