Full Description
Fine example of an early 20th century weighbridge with panelled control cabin preserved in situ when works demolished and estate constructed.

January 2004. Site visit.
Location corrected. Deck, set in cobbled street, embossed W & T AVERY LONDON AND BIRMINGHAM TO WEIGH 8 TONS. The control machinery is in a low building to the south, now Rackham's Funeral Directors. Adjacent drain cover marked EAST DEREHAM FOUNDRY.
