Summary

Frequent metal-detecting between 2002 and 2018 recovered a Lower/Middle Palaeolithic flint flake; a late prehistoric flint blade; Roman and Late Saxon pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval tokens and medieval to post-medieval jettons; medieval and post-medieval jettons and Early Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Early Iron Age/Roman copper alloy bead; Roman brooches and possible coin blank; a Roman/Early Saxon buckle; Early and Middle Saxon brooches; Middle and Late Saxon strap ends; a Late Saxon spoon and finger-ring; a Late Saxon to post-medieval spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories and weights; medieval pot mends, an ampulla, powder measure, seal matrix and a key; medieval/post-medieval rivets, copper alloy vessel fragments, a copper alloy sheet strainer or sieve and part of a candlestick and post-medieval lead cloth seals, harness mounts, spoons, a thimble, sword belt mount, finger ring, crotal bell and a powder measure.
