Summary

Metal detecting in 2002 and 2004 recovered a range of objects, including Mesolithic, Mesolithic/Early Neolithic and undatable worked flints; Roman pottery; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coin and metal objects dating from the Bronze Age to the post-medieval period. The metal objects include a Bronze Age awl; Roman brooches, bracelets and hairpin; a Middle Saxon strap end; medieval dress accessories and harness pendant; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy cauldron fragments; post-medieval buckles, Jew's harp and crotal bell and a ?post-medieval writing lead.

41 Roman coins, 12 pottery sherds, 1 brooch fragment, 1 probable copper alloy bracelet fragment, 2 mounts/studs (probable furniture fittings) and 1 lead steelyard weight.
1 Middle Saxon strap end.
1 medieval coin, 1 buckle, 1 ?strap end and 1 horse harness pendant.
1 ?medieval lead pot mend.
2 medieval/post-medieval copper alloy cauldron fragments.
1 post-medieval coin, 1 belt mount, 1 crotal bell, 2 buckles and 1 ?post-medieval rivet.
1 undatable lead weight and 1 copper alloy ring.
