Summary

Fieldwalking in 2003 in an area of cleared forest recovered a Mesolithic core, a possible unfinished Early Neolithic leaf arrowhead and a large number of later Neolithic flints. Possible sherds of Iron Age and Early Saxon pottery were also found, along with Roman and medieval sherds and medieval roofing tile and brick fragments.

In cleared forest between Harling Drove and railway.
Over 200 prehistoric worked flints including a Mesolithic blade core and a possible unfinished Early Neolithic leaf arrowhead. The bulk of the assemblage is however of probably later Neolithic date including:
3 Knives (plus one possible)
16 Scrapers
4 Notched pieces
6 Borers
17 Other retouched pieces
9 Cores
121 Flakes and flake fragment
24 Shatter pieces and other debitage
Two sherds of ?Iron Age pottery and one of Iron Age/Early Saxon date also found, along with seven sherds of Roman pottery.
Also medieval pottery sherds, roofing tile and brick.
