Summary

Metal detecting here in 2003 recovered an incomplete post medieval buckle with elaborate open-work and a post medieval hooked mount from a sword belt decorated with curling scrolls and a bewigged mask.

Post medieval Ae incomplete (33 x 26mm) buckle, oval raised inner frame within elaborate open-work of similar pattern to that illustrated in Read (1988, no. 913), iron spindle, Ae tongue, broken plate and stud chape. 17th century.
Found at location [2]:
Post medieval Ae hooked mount, hanger from sword belt, elaborate openwork with curling scrolls and ?bewigged mask at springing of hook, two perforations below remains of large broken perforation at other end, 23 x 47mm. 16th century.
