Summary

Metal detecting here in 2003 recovered a post medieval mount in the form of a pressed sheet hollow-backed cross fleury. In addition, a sixpence of Elizabeth I, minted in London, was also found at this site.

Ae mount, pressed sheet hollow-backed cross fleury, corroded iron central rivet on reverse, 21 x 21mm. See broadly similar cruciform mount (although cross crosslet rather than fleury) in Read 1988, no. 728. 16th century.
