Summary

Aerial photographs of this area show the cropmarks of a Roman road running north to south. This feature was accompanied to the east by a series of enclosures. Investigations here in 1979 recovered sherds of Roman and medieval pottery including the base sherd of a Roman beaker which had rouletted decoration.

Marks in growing cereal crop, mainly dark lines against lighter background of crop. Line of Roman road visible running approximately north-south with to east complex of enclosures flanking converging minor road?

Roman buff-oxidised base sherd; Beaker (Roman) rim with rouletted decoration.
Basalt Ware handle fragment. Two glazed Grimston sherds, two coarseware sherds probably medieval.
