Summary

Metal detecting between 2000 and 2017 recovered an Early Saxon brooch; a possible medieval harness fitting; and a post medieval shoe buckle.

September 2000. Metal detecting.
Two hours, but only two finds worthy of record in large field in prime location.
?Medieval chunky copper alloy D shaped (9mm by 4mm) rod broken at one end and turning into a three quarter round hook at other, the hook turned towards the flat reverse of the strip. Posibly a strap hook harness fitting. See examples from NHER 31087 Postwick and 31879 Whissonsett, East Anglian Archaeology 101 figure 24; numbers 244 and 245.
Post medieval copper alloy oval (23mm by 18.5mm) shoe buckle with remains of iron pin, spindle and chape. Late 17th to early 18th century.
