Full Description
March 2003. Norfolk NMP.
A single, sub-rounded to irregular mound with its long axis aligned in a northwest to southeast direction (S1). The mound has a length of 67m and a width of 31m. The mound is situated within the meander of a former saltmarsh channel. This mound, along with salterns NHER 27768 and 27769, are on the eastern, landward side of the saltern complex at North Wootton, suggesting they are some of the earliest mounds. A Late Saxon or an early medieval date seems likely for the formation of this mound.
