Map

June 2003. Norfolk NMP.
The earthwork is visible as a sub-rounded, kidney bean-shaped mound, on the former saltmarsh to the east of Lynn (S1). The mound has an east to west length of 31m. This is probably a medieval saltern mound, formed by the mounding up of waste sand from which the salt has been extracted. The courses of former saltmarsh channels can be seen within the vicinity of the mound (S1), and there are many similar mounds in this area.
M. Brennand (NMP), 24 June 2003.
