Map

June 2003. Norfolk NMP.
The feature appears as a lighter area with a parched appearance, and is also possibly raised slightly, although under the plough (S1). The feature is irregular to sub-rounded in plan, with an approximate east to west length of 96m. This is possibly the traces of a medieval saltern mound, formed by piles of waste sand during salt processing. It is part of a group of mounds on the former saltmarsh to the west of the Great Ouse.
M. Brennand (NMP), 24 June 2003.
