Map

August 2002. Norfolk NMP.
A short stretch of possible World War Two scaffolding can be seen on RAF 1955 aerial photographs (S1) and is located at NGR TF7047 4464 (centre). It is about 14m wide and 106m in length. In appearance this seems quite large/wide for scaffolding, so it is uncertain as to whether this is what it is. However, it is possible, especially as it is very near to other military sites (NHER 23518 and 32533). Therefore this was probably a part of the World War Two defence of the coast/beach in this area.
There is a possibly that the scaffolding continues further along the coast to the east, in front of the military area of NHER 23518, however this stretch has not been mapped and does appear more like sea defences than military defences.
H. Clare (NMP), 28 August 2003.
