Map

May 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of a bank can be seen on the Ordnance Survey aerial photographs from 1972 (S1). This feature runs from TF7297 4006 to TF7323 4016 and is about 15m wide. There is a possible ditch running along each side of the bank, however, this is not certain (and therefore the ditches have not been plotted).
The date and origin of this feature is unknown, but it is possible that it is the remains of a road or trackway. There is no sign of it on the modern (S2) or 2nd edition (S3) Ordnance Survey maps, which could suggest at least a post-medieval date. However, although all this is a possibility, it is also possible that this is actually just some form of 'terracing' and could actually just be due to ploughing action.
(This is sketch plotted due to a problem with control points for mapping as only large Ordnance Survey images were available).
