Full Description
THIS SITE IS PART OF NHER 1299.
Road marked on T. Nelson's map of 1609 (S1).
May 2002. Norfolk NMP.
A section of earthwork bank is showing quite clearly, following the length of the field (west to east) from NGR TF7049 4315 to TF 7063 4317 (see ADAS 1970 (S2)-(S3) and Hunting Survey 1969 (S4) aerial photographs). Also in both fields to the west and east (NHER 39681) there appears to be faint cropmarks of banks (see Hunting Survey 1969 aerial photographs (S4)). These would all seem to suggest the remains of a track/road and are on the approximate alignment thought to be that of one of the linear feature/bank/road previously recorded as NHER 1299. The bank cropmark runs from TF7001 4310 to TF7032 4314.
H. Clare (NMP), 8 May 2002.
October 2011.
Google Earth imagery suggests that these features are ploughed level.
K. Powell (HES), 14 October 2011.
