Summary

Metal detecting in 2003 at this location recovered a large post medieval buckle frame. This example was dated to the first part of the 17th century and had unusual broad rippling concave sides and edges with exaggeratedly pointed corners.

Large and unusual post medieval Ae buckle frame, cast with slightly hollowed angled back, broad rippling concave sides and edges with exaggeratedly pointed corners, narrowed central bar, pin missing, 61 x 53mm. 1st half 17th century.
