Protected Status/Designation

Location

Map sheet TF63SE
Civil Parish INGOLDISTHORPE, WEST NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

August 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The feature is a straight linear parch mark aligned in an east to west direction (TF 6902 3240 to TF 6940 3242) and recorded for a minimum length of 380m. This may be caused by a buried compacted surface, such as a track or road, but may equally represent a relatively modern feature such as a pipeline. If the feature is a routeway then it appears to underlie, and therefore pre-date Chalk Pit Road. There is little further trace of the feature to the east or west.
M. Brennand (NMP), 7 October 2002.
