Map

April 2002. Norfolk NMP.
To the north of Chosely Farm house a probable bank feature runs in an approximate south east to north west direction (S1) for a distance of approximately 50m (TF 7546 4094 to TF 7543 4098). There appears to be a ditch on the northern side of the feature. At its northern end two shorter lengths of bank run at right angles to the south-west and north-east. From the south-western end of the western bank an irregular linear feature, possibly a channel, drain or boundary, runs northwestwards for a distance of 75m. At its northern end there is a single, fragmentary east to west aligned ditch (TF 7528 4100 to TF 7548 4104), which is probably a field boundary.
To the east of the area is a low, flattened bank with the possible traces of a ditch on its western side. The feature is visible in two separate 150m and 75m stretches, with a complete recorded length of 277m. The feature runs in an approximate north to south direction, parallel with a field boundary to its immediate east, but is not believed to be modern and is not recorded on the OS second edition (S2).These are almost certainly all land division features, possibly related to or contemporary with the linear features in 11956, and possibly also medieval or post-medieval in date.
M. Brennand (NMP), 15 April 2002.
