Map

March 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The exact form of the earthwork is not clear, but it appears to be a raised ringwork, surrounded by a narrow ring ditch (S1). The feature is relatively small, with the ringwork bank having a width of 2m, and a maximum diameter of 6.5m. The area within the bank has a maximum diameter of 3.4m.
The date and purpose of this feature is unclear. It is presumably of a relatively recent date, possibly even twentieth century, and relates to agricultural practices. It may be a stack base or surround, or once built to surround a building. Equally it may have surrounded a military structure between 1939 and 1945.
M. Brennand (NMP), 31 March 2002.
