Map

July 2002. Norfolk 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The feature has its long axis aligned in an approximate south-west to north-east direction, with a length of 50m and a width of 26m (S1). The feature appears to represent a levelled earthwork or a compacted sub-surface feature, although the parching is not uniform throughout the area. There appears to be a linear feature running down the centre of the long axis, although this may be a later drainage ditch, truncating the original feature.
The purpose and antiquity of this anomaly is uncertain. The feature may be a levelled earthwork, or simply hard standing or a compacted surface, associated with a small structure or stock enclosure.
M. Brennand (NMP), 1 July 2002.
