Summary

No 7 is a timber-framed house, built as a single cell building with an end stack but with very ornate detailing. It is thought to date to after the fire of 1616, and is considered to be a very complete example, altered only in 19th century by subdivision and rear additions including a slaughterhouse.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Shop. Early 17th century. Timber-framed, plastered, colourwashed and scored to imitate ashlar. Roof of red and black glazed pantiles. Two storeys and dormer attic. 20th-century shop front with central door. Two first floor sashes with glazing bars. Gabled roof carrying a 20th-century gabled dormer fitted with a three-light casement. Internal gable-end stack to east.
INTERIOR. Winder north of stack. Chamfered and tongue-stopped bridging beams. Roof of one two tiers of purlins, the lower staggered, the upper clasped by cambered collars."
