1962. Found on the surface of a field.
Sestertius of Antoninus Pius, probably a contemporary forgery, weight 23.84 Grains.
Obverse, Laurelate head, right IMP ANTONIVS AVGVSTVS PP.
Reverse, Pietas standing left TRI POT PP COS III. PIE - TAS SC.
Identified by R. A. G. Carson, (British Museum)
'...No issue which contains these inscriptions. The obverse inscription cannot be matched and the occurence of PP on both Obverse and Reverse is most odd. This, together with the slightly unusual size and lettering forces me to the conclusion that this must be an irregular coin, a contemporary forgery"
