Summary

Crane's Farm is a possible moated site, with waterfilled ditches enclosing a rectangular garden. The house itself is timber framed, with two storeys, an east wall faced in brick, and a pantiled roof. There is a chimney stack at the centre of the roof where it changes in height, and one original mullioned window. Plans indicate that the chimney stack has two ground floor and one first floor fireplace, and that the house has an integral winding stair and lobby entrance. The roofline is higher above the parlour cell, suggesting that the central room may be a floored hall house. The house is listed as 17th century or earlier, and if it is a hall house it is early 16th century or earlier, though it may have been floored in the 17th century. To the northeast there is also a timber framed barn, clad in weatherboarding, which is listed as 17th or 18th century.
