October 2003. Building Survey.
Timber-framed house, first half of 17th century, two storeys and attic, high quality detailing and remarkable roof. Probably three cell plan but stack moved when, in the 18th century, grand remodelling provided a new stair, panelled room, brick gable walls and a wing. The latter, and the roof, were probably for industrial use (weaving?). Later 19th- and 20th-century alterations. Important example of a building illustrating the rise of the merchant class of Wymondham.
