Location

Map sheet TF60NE
Civil Parish FINCHAM, WEST NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

May 1962. 'On council estate at Fincham'. Marked as this location by R. R. Clarke. Found in digging cess pit soakaway. Human skeleton. Dated as being 500 years old by [1].
'Other skeletons previously found nearby'. Locally said to be an old burial ground, see (S1).
(S2) has a reference to human skeletons dredged from a pond at the end of an orchard in 1973; probably redeposited from a neighbouring burial ground when a bungalow built. This sounds like a confusion with NHER 14073.
E. Rose (NAU), 24 October 1983.
