Summary

It has been suggested that this is the site of a medieval moat, although any earthworks on this site may be the result of quarrying from the building of Stradsett Park. However in 2000 nothing could be seen on the ground to suggest any earthwork in this area, and the owner says he has never been aware of any evidence of an earthwork.

Map

Moat suggested by R. R. Clarke (NCM).

However the Ordnance Survey suggest it is a quarry from the building of Stradsett Park. They point out it is not shown on the tithe map of 1840, but this does not always mean anything.
E. Rose (NAU), 28 February 1980.
