Map

Formerly coachman's house for what is now Nelson House (NHER 39828). (S1) describes as late 18th century of rendered flint with brick quoins; black glazed pantiles. Two storeys. Doorcase with flat hood right of centre, 19th century horned sash to left, two more to first floor. Dentilled eaves. Bell based gable roof with stack through front slope. East wall, not described, was inspected by E. Rose (NLA) on 13 November 2003. Not rendered, this wall is of large flints; the brick quoins have horizontal skintlings (post 1760s). Local story is that during alterations a fireplace was found in the back of the present one indicating that the house once extended further west and was reduced to allow drive through to Nelson House.
E. Rose (NLA), 15 November 2003.
