Summary

The Norman church of St Michael at Thorn, also known as St Michael at Ber Street, or St Miles on the Hill, was destroyed by an enemy bomb in 1942.

1942.
Church extensively damaged by incendiary bombs which destroyed the roof and gutted the interior.
Although the repair of the church was considered in 1948 the remains were subsequently demolished.
