Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 2003 recovered a medieval lead seal matrix. It had an inscription which suggested it was the seal of either Wimerus or Wymer Brown.

September 2003. Metal detecting.
Medieval lead seal matrix, flat without lug or handle. Circular, 36mm. Central dot from compass used for marking out lines for inscription. + SIGILL' . VIMERI . BRVNI (Seal of Wimerus/Wymer Brown). The seal is unfinished, the inscription is not deeply cut and the V and M are very faintly inscribed.
