Summary

Metal detecting between 2003 and 2018 recovered medieval and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds; aswell as Middle Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Middle Saxon pin; Late Saxon bridle bit; medieval buckle, spur fragment and strap-end; and a post-medieval crotal bell.

September 2003. Metal detecting.
Medieval fragment (47 by 25mm) of copper alloy spur, double pierced figure-of-eight terminal with semi-circular lobe on outside edge, broken angled side with groove in angle of upper edge. Compare with (S1), closest to Types B2 and B3. 15th century.
