Summary

Trowse House is a large three storey house of red brick, with a flight of steps up to a central door in the ground floor. Norwich City Council notes that the date 1703 is carefully incised on several bricks. An original ornate staircase, as well as mid 19th century cornices and fireplaces, survive inside.

Large house of red brick.
East façade of five bays, three storeys and attic; the lowest storey is a half basement, with a flight of steps up to a central door in the ground floor under a segmental brick pediment. All windows now late 19th century sashes. Attic window is set in façade pediment. Norwich City Council note the date 1703 carefully incised on several bricks (photograph (S1) in file).

Listing description (S2), now obtained, notes early 18th century stair turret at rear flanked by mid 19th century wings thus forming a rear pile to original three cell plan. Original ornate staircase, mid 19th century cornices and fireplaces.
