Summary

Metal-detecting and fieldwalking between 2003 and 2016 recovered prehistoric worked flint, including a Mesolithic blade and Neolithic scrapers and a core; Iron Age, Roman, Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval, and post-medieval pottery sherds, a Roman tile fragment; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and tokens and undated and Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undated copper alloy ingot, casting waste and a weight; an Iron Age brooch; Late Iron Age/Roman terret; Roman brooches, a bracelet fragment, figurine, hair pin, harness fitting, pendant and military strap loop; an Early Saxon brooch; a Middle Saxon pin; a Middle/Late Saxon pin; a Late Saxon gold ingot; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval balance, harness pendant, seal matrix, spindle whorl, thimble and weight; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments, part of a candlestick and a copper alloy ring and a post-medieval seal, key, crotal bell, musket ball, harness mount and part of a pair of scissors.
