Summary

Metal detecting in 2002 to 2003 recovered a 16th century copper alloy book clasp with a copper alloy leaf spring riveted to the reverse.

Copper alloy book clasp with copper alloy leaf spring riveted to reverse, very similar in form and decoration to (S1), although this piece lacks engraved wavy lines on cross mouldings next to hook. One corner of fish-tail terminal missing. 16th century. 46.5mm x c.20mm.
