1996. Stray Find.
Wooden spoon found during renovation work. This object (which had suffered breakage and scratching) was recovered from rubble and it is therefore unclear where it had originally lain. Its condition does however suggest that it had probably lain beneath the floorboards.
This object is fully described in (S2), which suggests a probable date of AD 1500-1700.
P. Watkins (HES), 19 March 2013.

During inspection of adjacent property No.1 (NHER 40101) it was noted that this house overlies the north gable stack of No.1; its façade has bricks with horizontal skintlings making it post after 1770; there is now a brick rear wing said to be a former maltings converted to housing - the carriage arch mentioned leads to a former corn mill - is the timber framed wing to the north of this?
