Full Description
April 2004, Norfolk NMP
A World War Two military structure is visible in 1940 on aerial photographs near the coast at Weybourne (S1). The building is ‘T-shaped’ and measures 20m by 6.5m, with an 8m extension to the north. It is located at TG 1328 4329. The exact function of the building is not known, although it is situated to the south of an area of coastal defences at Weybourne and to the immediate east of the rifle range (NHER 38577 to 38579 and 32505), so it is probably related to the running of one of the surrounding posts. It is worth noting that a line of barbed wire runs down from the anti-tank ditch (NHER 32505) to the north west towards this structure. All of these sites are associated with Weybourne Camp to the west (NHER 11335). This structure has been removed by 1946 (S2).
