Summary

Church Farm began in the early 17th century as a timber-framed three-cell house, with an offcentre stack. In the late 17th century it was partly rebuilt and extended, and gained a timber-frame and brick firegable. The front of the older section was rebuilt in brick in the late 18th century, and the remainder refaced in the 19th century.

18th century remodelling of older house. Red brick and pantile. Two storeys and attic. Three bays of casements. Two blocked door openings, present entrance offcentre. Parapet gables with moulded corbels; internal stack on east gable. Offcentre axial stack. Two gable windows to east. Catslide extension.

The house is in fact much more complex than the above external description suggests. It began as a timber framed three cell house with offcentre stack, of the early 17th century, and was partly rebuilt, and extended, in the late 17th century with timber frame and brick firegable. Front of older section rebuilt in brick in late 18th century, remainder refaced in 19th century.
