Before 16 March 2004. Found 1.8m (6 feet) down in sand during building work.
Flaked axe (incomplete). Long narrow axehead in pale grey flint, lenticular cross section and pointed butt. Snapped transversely with loss of the cutting edge: a visible flaw in the flint accounts for the break. There is no trace of polishing on the main body of the axe.
Neolithic, probably Early Neolithic.
