Map

May 2004. Norfolk NMP.
A possible group of World War Two weapons pits is visible on aerial photographs within Weybourne Wood. (S1). The site is centred on TG 1246 4144. An area of recent pit digging is visible covering approximately 240m by 75m. The pits are between 2-3m across and form linear arrangements. These have been interpreted as a World War Two training site and weapons pits. These have not been mapped however due to the close proximity of these modern earthworks to an area of late Saxon to medieval iron procurement pits (NHER 6281-2, 38640).
